talabat appoints Zain Bashir as Managing Director of Bahrain

talabat, the MENA-based everyday delivery platform, has appointed Zain Bashir as managing director of Bahrain, effective immediately, as the company looks to strengthen its operations, expand partner opportunities and improve customer experience in the Kingdom.

Bashir brings more than 13 years of cross-functional leadership experience across Pakistan, Oman, the UAE and Bahrain, with a background spanning marketing, business strategy, marketplace operations and general management.

Commenting on the appointment, Bader Al-Ghanim, chief international officer at talabat, said: “We are pleased to welcome Zain as Managing Director of talabat Bahrain. His strong understanding of talabat's regional business, combined with his experience across commercial strategy, marketing, and marketplace growth, makes him best suited to lead our Bahrain operations into their next phase.”

“Bahrain remains an important market for talabat, and we are confident that Zain will continue building on the strong foundations already in place while further strengthening our customer, partner, and rider ecosystem in the Kingdom,” Al-Ghanim added.

In his new role, Bashir will oversee talabat Bahrain’s operations, focusing on strengthening the platform’s customer experience, expanding growth opportunities for partners and supporting initiatives that contribute to the wider local ecosystem.

Bashir most recently served as talabat’s regional senior director of Grocery and Retail Marketplace and interim managing director of the UAE. In these roles, he gained experience in marketplace operations, business performance and regional growth.

He previously led marketing in Oman and the UAE and oversaw business performance and strategy for the UAE. Before joining talabat, he held marketing and brand management roles at AkzoNobel in Oman and Pakistan and began his career at GSK in Pakistan.

Bashir holds a master’s degree in management from Manchester Business School in the UK.

Looking ahead, talabat Bahrain will continue to focus on enhancing its platform, supporting local businesses and delivering greater convenience to customers across the Kingdom.
