Recently, Alangari served as CEO of e& enterprise Saudi Arabia, and brings over 25 years of leadership experience across technology, telecom, cloud, and digital sectors.
Lenovo has appointed Tareq Alangari as Senior Vice President & President for its Middle East, Türkiye, and Africa (META) operations, effective immediately.
In his new role, Alangari brings over 25 years of leadership experience across technology, telecom, cloud, and digital sectors.
Before joining Lenovo, he served as CEO of e& enterprise Saudi Arabia, where he established and scaled the business into a major player in digital infrastructure, AI, cloud, cybersecurity, and FinTech.
His track record in building high-growth technology businesses is expected to be pivotal as Lenovo deepens its regional impact.
He will lead the regional business from Lenovo’s Regional Headquarters in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, as the tech giant strengthens its footprint across some of the world’s fastest-growing digital economies.
The appointment comes as Lenovo sharpens its focus on supporting national digital transformation agendas such as Saudi Vision 2030, the UAE National Digital Strategy, Dubai Smart City, Qatar National Vision 2030, and the African Union Digital Transformation Strategy. The company plans to accelerate growth through AI-powered solutions, cloud infrastructure, and advanced computing technologies, catering to governments, enterprises, and consumers.
“We are thrilled to welcome Tareq to Lenovo,” said Matt Zielinski, EVP & President, International Markets, Lenovo. “META is one of the most dynamic regions globally, with strong momentum in AI, cloud, and smart infrastructure. Tareq’s leadership will help us strengthen partnerships, accelerate innovation, and deliver smarter technology for all.”
Sharing his vision, Alangari said, “The META region is full of opportunities for digital transformation and national development. Lenovo is uniquely positioned to enable these ambitions with its comprehensive technology ecosystem. Our focus will be on advancing AI adoption, cloud modernization, and empowering local talent while supporting governments and businesses to achieve sustainable growth.”
The appointment aligns with Lenovo’s broader strategic investments in the region, including the establishment of its Regional Headquarters in Riyadh and a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Saudi Arabia, developed in partnership with Alat. These initiatives aim to enhance supply chain resilience, localization, and faster time-to-market, reinforcing Lenovo’s commitment to innovation and capability-building across META.
