UAE appoints Shayma Yousef Al Awadhi as Undersecretary for Labour Market Regulation and Development

Shayma recently served as Assistant Undersecretary for Communications and International Relations at MOHRE and also worked as an Adviser to the Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation.
The UAE has appointed Shayma Yousef Al Awadhi as Undersecretary for Labour Market Regulation and Development at the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE), reinforcing the country's focus on labour market governance and workforce development.
The appointment was made through a Federal Decree issued by UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Announcing the development on LinkedIn, MOHRE said, “His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, may God protect him, has issued a Federal Decree appointing Her Excellency Shayma Yousef Al Awadhi as Undersecretary of the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation for Labour Market Regulation and Development. We extend our congratulations to Her Excellency on this well-deserved trust and wish her continued success in her new role.”
Al Awadhi brings extensive experience in human resources, government transformation, and labour market policy. Prior to her appointment, she served as Assistant Undersecretary for Communications and International Relations at MOHRE and also worked as an Adviser to the Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation.

Her career includes leadership roles in government human resources and digital systems, notably serving as Director of the Human Resources Information System Department at the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources. Throughout her career, she has been involved in initiatives related to information systems, workforce management, and public-sector modernisation.
Academically, Al Awadhi holds a master’s degree in information security from Joseph Fourier University and a bachelor’s degree in information security and technology from United Arab Emirates University.
Her appointment comes as the UAE continues to advance labour market reforms, workforce competitiveness initiatives, and Emiratisation efforts aimed at strengthening the country's economic and employment landscape.
