Aldar Investment CEO Jassem Busaibe resigns

Aldar Properties has announced the resignation of Jassem Busaibe, Chief Executive Officer of Aldar Investment, marking the end of a distinguished 27-year career in investment, finance, and real estate leadership.

In a disclosure to the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX), Aldar confirmed that Busaibe has stepped down from his role as CEO of Aldar Investment as he prepares for retirement. He will continue to support the business during a transition period while the company finalizes its succession plans.

Aldar Investment, the income-generating arm of Aldar Properties, manages a portfolio valued at approximately AED 49 billion in investment-grade real estate assets. The platform oversees a diversified portfolio spanning retail, residential, commercial, logistics, hospitality, and education sectors, including landmark assets such as Yas Mall and premium office properties on Al Maryah Island.

The company credited Busaibe with playing a pivotal role in the growth and evolution of Aldar Investment over the past decade, helping transform it into one of the Middle East’s leading real estate investment platforms.

“During his tenure, Jassem played a pivotal role in the growth and development of Aldar Investment, helping establish it as one of the region’s leading real estate investment platforms and contributing significantly to Aldar’s long-term success,” the company said in its statement.

The Board of Directors and management expressed their appreciation for his leadership, dedication, and contributions to the organization, wishing him success in his future endeavors.

Busaibe joined Aldar in 2016 as Chief Investment Officer and has since held several key leadership positions across the group. Beyond his executive responsibilities, he has served as Chairman of Provis Estate Management, Khidmah, and PIVOT Engineering & General Contracting Company, while also sitting on the boards of Aldar Education and several prominent UAE organizations.

Before joining Aldar, Busaibe served as Chief Financial Officer of General Holding Corporation and held senior investment roles at Abu Dhabi Investment Company and the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA). Earlier in his career, he was Chief Executive Officer of Arady and spent nearly a decade managing private equity and investment portfolios across the region.

Academically, Busaibe holds a Master of Science in Finance from the London Business School and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.
