Kuwait edtech startup Dawraty raises $2M seed round

Kuwait-based education technology startup Dawraty Education Group has raised $2 million in a seed funding round to expand its medical education and professional training solutions across the Gulf and wider region.

Qatar Development Bank (QDB) participated in the round, which values Dawraty at a valuation cap of $10 million, according to the company.

Founded in 2023, Dawraty has expanded beyond Kuwait into Bahrain, Jordan and Qatar. The edtech platform currently serves more than 15,000 active learners and reported 207% year-on-year revenue growth.

The company said it is already profitable at the seed stage, reporting a 47x lifetime value-to-customer acquisition cost (LTV-to-CAC) ratio and 76.8% cohort retention. It is also building a business-to-business (B2B) revenue stream through partnerships with educational and professional institutions.

Dawraty has established partnerships with Kuwait University’s College of Medicine, the University of Bahrain and Johns Hopkins for continuing medical education. In August, it also signed a partnership and reseller agreement with Qatar Finance and Business Academy, securing its first institutional revenue contract in Qatar.

The startup said the new funding will support the expansion of its medical education and professional training offerings as it continues to grow its presence across regional markets.

The investment by QDB also highlights the increasing role of institutional funding in supporting early-stage Gulf startups seeking to scale across borders. Dawraty’s combination of regional expansion, reported profitability and institutional partnerships positions it among emerging edtech businesses targeting the professional learning and medical education markets.

As demand for specialised and continuing education grows across the region, Dawraty is seeking to build its platform through a combination of learner-focused offerings and institutional partnerships.
