Alba appoints three senior leaders across finance, legal and HR functions

Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba) has strengthened its leadership team with three strategic appointments across finance, legal and human resources as the aluminium producer focuses on organisational effectiveness and long-term growth.

Alba has appointed Layla Al Qassab as Director of Finance, effective 1 September 2026; Taimur Tufail as Manager Legal, effective 23 August 2026; and Aysha Salem as Manager Organisation Development & HR Analytics, effective 6 September 2026.

The company said the appointments are aimed at strengthening its leadership capabilities and supporting its strategic priorities as it seeks to build a more agile and resilient organisation.

Alba CEO Ali Al Baqali said the three appointees bring significant expertise and leadership experience in their respective areas and would help strengthen the company’s capabilities and drive performance.

Al Qassab joins Alba with more than 20 years of experience spanning finance, strategy and business transformation. She previously served as Chief Financial Officer of The Benefit Company, where she led initiatives covering financial management, business transformation and corporate development. She has also held senior positions at BNP Paribas Middle East and PwC.

Her board experience includes roles at Sinnad WLL and Bahrain Fintech Bay WLL, alongside advisory positions in the fintech and education sectors. Al Qassab is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and holds a first-class honours degree in accounting from Cardiff University.

Tufail brings more than a decade of legal advisory experience across mergers and acquisitions, corporate transactions and regulatory matters in the GCC and Pakistan. Before joining Alba, he worked at Al Tamimi & Company, advising financial institutions, telecommunications groups, investment firms and listed companies on strategic transactions and corporate matters.

He is qualified as a Barrister in England and Wales and was recognised by IFLR1000 as a Rising Star for Corporate and M&A in Bahrain in 2025.

Salem joins Alba with 10 years of experience in organisational development, workforce planning and talent management. She most recently worked as Senior Workforce Planning Specialist at Bapco Energies, where she worked with leaders on organisation effectiveness, workforce planning, organisation design and performance management.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management from the University of Chichester in the UK, as well as CIPD Level 7 and Level 5 qualifications in HR development and human resources management.

Alba said the appointments form part of its efforts to attract high-calibre talent and strengthen capabilities to support its next phase of growth.
