Al Sagr Cooperative Insurance Co. appoints Acting CEO; Yasser Alharbi steps down as MD

Al Sagr Cooperative Insurance Company has announced significant leadership changes, with its Managing Director resigning from the position effective immediately.

Dalal Abdullah Al-Burhan has been appointed as Acting Chief Executive Officer to assume the responsibilities of the outgoing Managing Director, Dr. Yasser bin Mohammed Al Harbi. However, Dalal will hold the role for a transitional period of six months, until a permanent successor is appointed.

In its official announcement, the company stated: “Approval to appoint Ms. Dalal Abdullah Al-Burhan as Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Company, effective from 02/11/1446H corresponding to 30/04/2025, for a period of six months.”

The company added: “It is worth noting that Ms. Dalal Abdullah Al-Burhan currently holds the position of Chief Technical Officer at the Company.”

She has been overseeing the company’s technical operations and ensuring the integration of advanced technologies to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.

Dr. Yasser has served as Managing Director of Al Sagr since 2022. While stepping down from executive responsibilities, he will remain a non-executive member of the company’s board. The Board of Directors expressed their gratitude, stating: “Sincere thanks and appreciation to Dr. Yasser bin Mohammed Al Harbi for his efforts during his tenure as Managing Director, and we wish him continued success and prosperity.”

In her new role, Dalal brings over 16 years of experience in technology and finance leadership. She will continue to manage dual responsibilities.

On the academic front, Dalal holds a Fellowship Certificate in Insurance from the Chartered Insurance Institute in London and a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from King Saud University. She also holds key specialised professional certificates in insurance and risk management.
