Mashreq appoints Ashfaq Bandey as Executive VP and Global Talent Acquisition Head
Mashreq, one of UAE’s leading banking groups, has announced the appointment of Ashfaq Bandey as the Executive Vice President and Global Talent Acquisition Head, effective from May 2024.
In his new role, Ashfaq brings over 21 years of HR leadership and advisory experience across the banking and government sectors. He joined the bank in 2006 as the Recruitment Manager for wholesale and international banking and was elevated into key roles, including Vice President & HR Business Partner and Senior Vice President and Senior People Advisory & Business Partnering positions over the last 18 years. Prior to this, he served as the Senior Planning and Performance Manager for the Ministry of Justice in the United Kingdom for three years.
On the academic front, Ashfaq holds an MA degree in HR Management and Strategic HR from Middlesex University and a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Lincoln. He also completed certifications from the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, UK, and a certificate in Strategic HR Business Partner Programme from the Human Capital Institute, USA. His core competencies include recruitment, talent management, total rewards, performance management, employee engagement, employee relations, and strategic HR.
