HPE appoints Michael Langeveld as UAE Country Director amid AI and cloud push

Langeveld will work under the strategic leadership of Ahmad Alkhallafi, Vice President and Managing Director for Emirates and Africa at HPE.
Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has appointed Michael Langeveld as UAE Country Director, effective immediately, as the company sharpens its focus on artificial intelligence, sovereign cloud, and digital infrastructure opportunities in the Emirates.
In his new role, Langeveld will lead HPE’s UAE operations, with responsibility for driving business growth, strengthening customer and partner engagement, and supporting the country’s digital transformation ambitions across AI, hybrid cloud, and networking technologies.
The appointment comes as enterprises and government organisations in the UAE ramp up investments in AI infrastructure, sovereign cloud capabilities, and next-generation connectivity. In response, HPE said it has restructured its UAE operations into a more integrated go-to-market model, bringing customer-facing and partner-focused teams under unified leadership.
Langeveld will work under the strategic leadership of Ahmad Alkhallafi, Vice President and Managing Director for Emirates and Africa at HPE.
Langeveld brings nearly 20 years of experience in technology strategy, business development, and leadership. Since joining HPE in 2022, he has held multiple leadership roles across South Africa, the UAE, and the broader Africa region.
“The UAE is a highly dynamic technology market, and I'm honoured to lead HPE in the country as HPE is strengthening its commitment to playing a central role in driving its next phase of growth,” Langeveld said.
“My focus for this role is straightforward: bring our teams together, get closer to our customers and partners, and help accelerate outcomes in the areas that matter most to them. This will allow them to realize their digital strategies and goals with greater speed and confidence, while staying closely aligned with the UAE's ambition for digital transformation,” he added.
Alongside Langeveld’s appointment, HPE also named Ques Eden as Head of Commercial Sales UAE and Santosh Lasrado as Head of Technology UAE.
The company said the leadership changes are part of a broader investment in its UAE organisation aimed at strengthening execution across enterprise sales, commercial operations, pre-sales, partnerships, and channel development.
“We have reinforced our UAE leadership framework with a clear purpose – to accelerate growth and deliver meaningful outcomes for our customers in the region – and Michael Langeveld’s appointment is central to that vision,” said Alkhallafi.
“With a more integrated structure and a stronger team, we are positioned to move faster, deliver measurable results, and support the Emirates’ long-term plans for the transformation of the emirate's economy,” he added.
HPE said the strengthened UAE leadership structure underscores its long-term commitment to the market, with a focus on hybrid cloud, AI, cybersecurity, networking, and sovereign infrastructure, while also supporting local talent development and national digital initiatives.
