
Leadership shuffle at United Cooperative Assurance Company
Saudi Arabia’s United Cooperative Assurance Company has announced key changes to its C-suite executive team, with Mohammed Basrawi stepping down from the position of Chief Executive Officer, as informed on Tadawul on June 4, 2025.
The company stated, “The United Cooperative Assurance Company announces the issuance of a resolution by the Board of Directors at its meeting held on Tuesday, 07 Dhu Al-Hajjah 1446H, corresponding to 03 June 2025, approving the resignation of the company's CEO, Eng. Mohammed bin Mohammed Saeed Basrawi, who decided to retire, effective from 05 Muharram 1447H, corresponding to 30 June 2025.”
Basrawi has been serving UCA as the CEO for over six years, and the company extended its wishes to him, adding, “The UCA Board of Directors extends its sincere thanks and appreciation to Eng. Mohammed Basrawi for his efforts and achievements in leading the company over the past years, wishing him continued success.”
To take over CEO responsibilities, the company has appointed Shaher Al Madani as the successor to Basrawi. The announcement added, “...the Board of Directors also decided, based on the recommendation of the Nominations and Remuneration Committee, to appoint Shaher bin Mahmoud Al-Madani as the company's CEO, commencing his duties with effect from 06 Muharram 1447H, corresponding to 01 July 2025, provided that regulatory approvals are obtained in accordance with the requirements set by the Insurance Authority.”
Al Madani joined UCA in 2018 as the Chief Human Capital and Shared Services Officer and brings around two decades of HR leadership experience to his new role. He also held key positions, including Chief Operating Officer in 2022 and Deputy CEO in 2023.
Before joining UCA, he worked with SABB Takaful Company as the Deputy Head of HR, Allianz SF as the HR and Government Relations Head, and Arabian Export Company as the HR Officer.

On the academic front, Al Madani holds a BBA degree from King Faisal University, a Level 5 Diploma in HR Management from the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, and certifications in Human Resource Professional and Leadership Coaching from prominent global institutions.
