
Eid Al Adha 2025 dates announced: Check official holidays for the UAE, KSA, Oman & more

The dates for Eid Al Adha 2025 have been officially announced across the Gulf. According to authorities, Arafat Day will be observed on June 5, 2025, followed by the Feast of Sacrifice (Eid Al Adha) on June 6, 2025.
In the United Arab Emirates (UAE), public sector employees will enjoy a four-day weekend to mark the Eid Al Adha 2025 celebrations. Announcing the Eid Al Adha dates, the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) stated: “The Arafah and Eid Al-Adha holidays for ministries and federal entities for this year, 1446 AH, will start from 09 Dhu Al-Hijjah 1446 AH, corresponding to Thursday, June 5, 2025, and continue until 12 Dhu Al-Hijjah 1446 AH, corresponding to Sunday, June 8, 2025. Official work will resume on Monday, June 9, 2025.”
In the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), the Crescent Sighting Department of the Supreme Court confirmed the dates for Arafat and Eid Al Adha. It stated: “Wednesday, 1 Dhul-Hijjah 1446 AH—corresponding to May 28, 2025, according to the Umm Al-Qura calendar—marks the beginning of the month of Dhul-Hijjah. Arafat will take place on Thursday, 9 Dhul-Hijjah (i.e., June 5), and Eid Al-Adha will be observed on the following Friday (i.e., June 6, 2025).”
It also added that work will resume on June 9, 2025.
Meanwhile, the Saudi Exchange trading platform previously announced: “Saudi Exchange announces that the Eid Al Adha holiday will commence on Thursday, June 5, 2025, corresponding to 09/12/1446 AH. Accordingly, the last day of trading before the Eid Al Adha holiday will be Wednesday, June 4, 2025, corresponding to 08/12/1446 AH. Trading will resume after the holiday on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, corresponding to 15/12/1446 AH.”
The Sultanate of Oman confirmed the Eid Al Adha dates in Royal Decree No. (88/2022), which specifies official holidays. It states: “Eid Al Adha starts on 9 Dhul-Hijjah and continues until the 12th of the same month. Friday shall be compensated if it coincides with the first day of any of the abovementioned Eid holidays.”
On May 28, the Sultanate announced: “The Dhu al-Hijjah 1446 AH moon was sighted; thus, the first day of Eid Al Adha will be on Friday, June 6, 2025.”
Qatar also confirmed a five-day Eid Al Adha 2025 break, as announced by the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs: “The Eid Al Adha holiday will last five days, starting from Thursday, June 5 (9 Dhul Hijjah), until Monday, June 9 (13 Dhul Hijjah).” This is part of Qatar’s Cabinet Resolution No. (18) of 2025, which includes amendments to existing legislation, including public holidays.

Observed during Dhul Hijjah, the 12th month of the Islamic calendar, the festival coincides with the Hajj pilgrimage in Mecca—one of the five fundamental pillars of Islam.
