UAE urges private sector firms to strengthen worker safety measures amid expected adverse weather

The Ministry stressed that protecting workers’ health and safety remains a top priority, especially in challenging weather conditions that may pose risks at construction sites and other outdoor workplaces.
The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation has called on private sector companies across the UAE to exercise caution and implement necessary safety measures at workplaces due to expected adverse weather conditions.
In a statement, the Ministry urged companies across all Emirates to take precautionary steps to ensure worker safety, particularly at outdoor work sites where continuing operations may be more difficult under severe weather conditions. The Ministry emphasized that employers must ensure occupational health and safety requirements are strictly followed during work hours as well as while workers commute to and from work sites.
The Ministry stressed that protecting workers’ health and safety remains a top priority, especially in challenging weather conditions that may pose risks at construction sites and other outdoor workplaces. Companies were encouraged to strengthen safety protocols, review risk assessments, and take preventive measures to avoid accidents or health issues caused by the weather.
“In light of the expected weather conditions, the Ministry calls on private sector establishments across all Emirates to strengthen safety measures at worksites and take the necessary preventive steps to protect workers during the performance of their duties and while commuting to and from work locations,” the statement said.

The Ministry further noted that adherence to occupational health and safety requirements is a shared responsibility between employers and employees, and is essential to ensuring business continuity while maintaining a safe working environment.
