Deel launches $15M global startup tournament – The Pitch

Deel says the program will engage more than 20,000 startups across seven global regions, offering a rare opportunity for founders from all corners of the world.
Global HR and payroll platform, Deel has unveiled The Pitch, a $15 million international competition aimed at identifying, funding, and accelerating the next generation of seed-stage startups worldwide.
The initiative seeks to break traditional geographic and network barriers in venture capital by surfacing talent purely on merit.
Deel says the program will engage more than 20,000 startups across seven global regions, offering a rare opportunity for founders from all corners of the world to compete on an equal footing. Winners stand to gain significant funding.
Up to 100 regional champions will receive $50,000 each, while up to ten global winners will secure $1 million each to scale their businesses.
The Pitch culminates in a global finale in May 2026, following seven in-person regional finals hosted in major tech hubs including Singapore, New York, London, and Berlin.
“The Pitch represents a new standard for global venture,” said Deel. “By combining a high-stakes tournament with rigorous expert review, we aim to identify startups with the highest potential, regardless of location or connections.”
The competition is presented by J.P. Morgan, with partnerships from a16z, dLocal, Google, Orrick, Prodware, Ribbit Ventures, and Stripe. Organizers note that with a final selection rate of just 0.05%, the tournament is set to be more selective than the world’s leading startup accelerators. Applications for seed-stage founders are now open, signaling a fresh push toward borderless entrepreneurship and global innovation.
