George Nazi steps down as CEO of SCAI

Nazi joined SCAI in starting 2024, and led ts formative growth and integration into Humain, marking the end of a key chapter in Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 AI journey.
George Nazi has stepped down as Chief Executive Officer of SCAI (Saudi Company for AI), closing a two-year chapter that oversaw the company’s formative growth and its successful integration into Humain.
In a LinkedIn post announcing his departure, Nazi reflected on SCAI’s mandate to build world-class artificial intelligence capabilities for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, aligned with Vision 2030. He noted that the organisation’s focus extended beyond deploying technology to building sovereign AI capability, nurturing local talent, and establishing institutions designed for long-term national impact.
During his tenure, SCAI played a key role in developing AI strategies, platforms, and teams to support the Kingdom’s priorities across government, industry, and society.
Nazi described the period as one of translating ambition into execution, crediting the team for pairing technical excellence with a strong sense of purpose and responsibility.
He also acknowledged the support of the Public Investment Fund (PIF) and SCAI’s Board of Directors, citing their conviction in AI as a strategic national capability as instrumental to the company’s growth and its transition into Humain.
Commenting on the integration, Nazi said the move to Humain was characterised by collaboration and a shared ambition to build AI at scale and with impact for the Kingdom’s future. He noted that contributing to Humain’s early foundations was a “rare and deeply rewarding experience.”
As he steps away from an operating role, Nazi said he plans to take time with family, adding that he leaves with pride in what has been built and optimism about the future of AI in Saudi Arabia.
“It has been an honour to serve,” he said, thanking colleagues and partners who were part of the journey.
