Qatar announces Eid Al-Fitr 2026 holiday until March 23

For public sector employees, the holiday will begin on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, and end on Monday, March 23, 2026. Employees will resume work on Tuesday, March 24, 2026.

The Amiri Diwan in Qatar has announced the official Eid al-Fitr holidays for 2026, outlining the break schedule for ministries, government entities, and public institutions across the country.


According to the announcement, the holiday for ministries, government agencies, public authorities, and other institutions will begin on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, and continue until Monday, March 23, 2026, with employees resuming work on Tuesday, March 24, 2026. 


“The Amiri Diwan announces that, on the occasion of the approaching Eid Al-Fitr, the holiday will be as follows:


For ministries, other government entities, public authorities, and institutions: The holiday will begin on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, and end on Monday, March 23, 2026. Employees will resume work on Tuesday, March 24, 2026.


For the Qatar Central Bank, financial institutions supervised by the bank, the Qatar Financial Markets Authority, and financial markets regulated by the authority: The Governor of the Qatar Central Bank will determine the start and end dates of the holiday.”


The statement added that the Governor of the Qatar Central Bank will determine the start and end dates of the break for the central bank and financial institutions under its supervision, as well as for the Qatar Financial Markets Authority and the financial markets overseen by the authority.


For the private sector, the Ministry of Labour has announced a three-day Eid al-Fitr holiday schedule. “The Ministry of Labour announces that employees of private sector establishments governed by the Labour Law shall be granted a three-day Eid Al-Fitr holiday with full pay. 


On this auspicious occasion, the Ministry extends its sincere congratulations and best wishes to all workers and employers, praying that Allah may return this blessed festival with goodness and prosperity to everyone. May our country continue to thrive in security and prosperity, and may peace prevail in every corner of the land,” the official notice read.



Separately, on March 14, Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Minister of Interior, Commander of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya), and Chairman of the Civil Defence Council, reaffirmed that security conditions in Qatar remain stable.


He said authorities are closely monitoring the situation to safeguard the community and ensure the continuity of essential services, while keeping the public informed through official channels.
