Ministry of Health-KSA appoints Reem Alghanim as Deputy Minister of HR

Reem brings over two decades of experience in the healthcare sector, overseeing human capital management agendas, and workforce development and planning.

The Ministry of Health Saudi Arabia has appointed Reem bint Saleh Al-Ghanim as the Deputy Minister of Human Resources, with immediate effect.

Extending wishes to Reem, the ministry stated, “We extend our sincere congratulations to Her Excellency Ms. Reem Bint Saleh Al-ghanim on the occasion of her appointment as Deputy Minister of Human Resources at the Ministry of Health. We pray to Allah Almighty for her continued success and guidance.”

Reem had joined the ministry in 2023 as the Assistant Deputy Minister for Human Resources Development & Workforce General Director – Vision Realization Office, where she enhanced the efficiency of HR by supporting the implementation of the employee transfer file in line with the National Transformation Strategy, and supervised the establishment of the Women Leaders Program in the Ministry of Health in cooperation with Princess University, which contributed to the graduation of 25 leaders in the health field in addition to 50 leaders who are about to graduate soon.

In her elevated role, Reem brings over two decades of experience in the healthcare sector, overseeing human capital management agendas, and workforce development and planning. She is one of the leaders who joined the first batch of the Misk Leaders Program 2030. 

Prior to this, Reem served the health ministry’s Director General of Manpower Department for over five years. In her other roles, she worked with the Ministry of National Guard Health Affairs in Saudi Arabia as the Associate Executive Director Corporate Manpower Services, and National Guard Health Affairs (NGHA) as the Director of Manpower Information Center.

Currently Reem also holds key positions at the Health Ministry’s Advisory Council for Women's Empowerment as Chairwoman, Saudi Council of Leaders, Advisory Board of the College of Applied Medical Sciences at King Saud University, and Nomination and Remuneration Committee of the Constituent Council of the Northern Health Sector at the Health Holding Company.

On the academic front, Reem holds an Executive MBA from the University of Memphis, and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science Applications from King Saud University. She also completed the Council Leadership Program from INSEAD, and Misk Leaders Program 2030 from the Mohammed bin Salman Foundation "Misk".

In addition to welcoming Reem as Deputy Minister of HR, the Ministry has also appointed Meraee Al-Qahtani as the Deputy Minister of Nationalization & Human Capital.
