Sharing the news in its August issue of the Labour Market Magazine, MoHRE emphasised that addressing negative practices related to Emiratisation policies and decisions is a top priority.

The United Arabia Emirates’s Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has referred eight companies for violating Emiratisation policy by reducing the salaries of Emirati employees, while also continuing to receive benefits under the Nafis programme.

The Ministry shared, “reducing salaries of Emiratis working in the private sector due to the government support they receive through the Nafis programme is a serious violation, as explicitly stipulated in Ministerial Resolution No. (663) of 2022 Regarding Compliance with Emiratisation Regulations in the Private Sector.”

It also emphasised that addressing negative practices related to Emiratisation policies and decisions is a top priority, as the aim is to protect the rights of Emiratis working in the private sector. To this end, the Ministry has established smart systems that track the wages of the private-sector workforce, including Emiratis, and ensure companies comply with Emiratisation policies and decisions.

Furthermore, the Ministry added that it has been regularly inspecting companies to ensure they follow the law, prevent misuse of the Nafis programme, and take legal action if any violations occur.

The Ministry also expressed its confidence in private-sector employers in meeting Emiratisation goals, and their commitment to treat Emiratis fairly by not reducing their salaries.

In June alone, the Ministry detected 405 cases of ‘Fake Emiratisation’ in private sector companies during the first half of 2025.

The private sector is a key partner in the government’s Emiratisation efforts,” MoHRE asserted. By the end of June 2025, around 29,000 private-sector companies had hired more than 152,000 Emiratis, demonstrating their dedication to this national effort, which enjoys the support and supervision of the wise leadership.

“Emirati citizens are currently employed across six main economic sectors, namely business services, financial intermediation, trade, repair services, construction, and manufacturing, among others. They hold positions in scientific, technical, and humanitarian disciplines, including roles such as specialists, managers, and administrative staff,” the Ministry added.
