EHRD Council and Keolis MHI collaborate to prioritise Emirati recruitment and implement structured training programmes to provide hands-on experience in various engineering and operations roles.

The Emirati Human Resources Development Council (EHRDC) has announced collaboration with leading rail transportation company, Keolis MHI to boost Emiratisation in the private sector.

As part of the new partnership, EHRD Council and Keolis MHI aim to enhance career opportunities for UAE nationals through targeted technical and vocational training. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by H.E. Abdullah Ali bin Zayed Al Falasi, Deputy Chairman of the EHRDC and Director-General of the HR Department in Dubai, and  David Franks, Managing Director of Keolis MHI. The agreement prioritises Emirati recruitment and implementing structured training programmes to provide hands-on experience in various engineering and operations roles within the Dubai Metro and Tram systems.

As part of the training programmes, Emiratis hired through this initiative will receive comprehensive training—both theoretical and practical—in crucial rail operations and maintenance areas, including automatic train control systems, automated fare collection, power supply systems, and infrastructure, along with mentoring from senior experts. Additionally, they will help raise awareness among school and university students about career opportunities in the rail industry and facilitate early career training. They will also assist the rail transport company in finding qualified UAE National candidates for its programs, with the goal of cultivating Emirati talent in the industrial sector.

During the MoU signing ceremony, H.E. Eng. Sultan Al Mansoori said, “Partnering with Keolis MHI is a significant step towards our goal of enhancing Emiratisation in the private sector. This collaboration will provide UAE nationals with invaluable opportunities to develop their skills and advance their careers in critical sectors. We are committed to empowering our workforce and ensuring they are prepared to contribute effectively to the nation's economic development."

Amal Abdullateef, Chief People Officer of Keolis MHI, added, "We are delighted to partner with the Emirati Human Resources Development Council to support the Emiratisation initiative. Our technical and vocational training programs are designed to provide UAE nationals with comprehensive training and development to become rail experts. We believe this collaboration will play a pivotal role in building a skilled and sustainable workforce, contributing to the growth and success of Dubai's transport sector. Aligned with our partner, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA ) in Dubai who plays a successful vital support in our achievements, Keolis MHI stands as a role model in Emiratisation and Nafis Award winner for two consecutive years, and this initiative will further support our progress in this vital area."

The partnership highlights a mutual dedication to nurturing local talent and advancing the UAE's vision for a diversified, knowledge-based economy.
