UAE President appoints Hasan Jasem Al Nowais as Undersecretary of Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology

In his new role, H.E. Al Nowais brings a wealth of executive leadership across the healthcare, industrial and investment industries. Most recently, he served M42 as the Managing Director and Group Chief Executive Officer for around three years. 

Previously, he worked with Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi as Chairman, and Mubadala Health as CEO. During his tenure with Mubadala, Al Nowais played a central role in advancing development projects in healthcare, industry, real estate and infrastructure. 

He has been recognised for driving the integration of technology across key productive sectors, strengthening industrial capabilities, enabling strategic investments in supply chains, and supporting efforts to attract leading global companies to the UAE. 

Al Nowais has also contributed to aligning national programmes with the country’s ambitions in advanced manufacturing, innovation, and the broader knowledge-based economy. 

On the academic front, H.E Al Nowais holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from the American University in Washington, D.C., along with executive education credentials from Harvard University. He began his career in the financial sector and worked at Ernst & Young, building a strong foundation in finance and accounting. 

To take over CEO responsibilities, M42 has appointed Dimitris Moulavasilis as its new Group Chief Executive Officer. Moulavasilis, who previously served as the company’s Chief Operating Officer, brings extensive industry leadership experience to the role. Meanwhile, Hasan Jasem Al Nowais, who stepped down as Managing Director and Group CEO, will continue to serve on the company’s board as a key member.
