He succeeds Talal Said Al Mamari, who stepped down in September 2025, and interim CEO Samy Al Ghassani now resumes his role as Chief Technology & Digital Officer.
Omantel, a leading telecom provider in Oman, has appointed Aladdin Baitfadhil as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately.
Baitfadhil succeeds Talal Said Al Mamari, who stepped down from the role in September 2025.
In the interim, Samy Al Ghassani was handling CEO responsibilities and will now continue his standalone role as Chief Technology & Digital Officer for the company.
Announcing the leadership transition, the telecom provider posted, “Omantel welcomes Eng. Aladdin bin Abdullah Bait Fadhil as its new Chief Executive Officer. He previously served as Chief Commercial Officer, where he helped shape our commercial strategy, advance our digital transformation journey, and strengthen Omantel’s position as a leading provider of innovative technology solutions.”
In his new role, Baitfadhil brings around two decades of industry leadership experience. He joined Omantel in 2005 and has held key roles while expanding the company’s enterprise and wholesale portfolios, enhancing customer experience, and building strategic partnerships that support the Sultanate’s vision for a dynamic digital economy.
“This appointment reaffirms Omantel’s commitment to empowering national talent and advancing our ‘Portal to the Future’ vision, positioning the company as a leading regional digital group,” the company added.
Baitfadhil is a homegrown top talent of Omantel, as he joined the company right after completing his bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from Sultan Qaboos University, with advanced strategic leadership and executive programs from Harvard Business School, London Business School, and Manchester Business School adding to his leadership profile.
