The UAE’s Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has unveiled its new artificial intelligence-powered system, ‘Eye’, aiming to revolutionize the processing of work permit applications.

The platform, launched at GITEX Global 2025, automates application handling, reducing the need for human intervention except in exceptional cases. ‘Eye’ uses AI to verify key documents such as personal photos, passports, and academic certificates, ensuring accuracy and authenticity while minimising human error.

The system is designed to streamline administrative procedures, accelerate approvals, and improve overall efficiency in work permit services. His Excellency Rashid Hassan Al Saadi, Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Labour Market Services at MoHRE spoke about the platform at the launch, “We are proud to unveil the ‘Eye’ system, which marks a new innovative step towards enhancing the Ministry’s services in line with global digital transformation trends. It forms part of a broad portfolio of digital transformation and artificial intelligence initiatives that elevate the standards of government services and pioneership."

"The system reflects the Ministry’s high level of digital readiness, our leading role in supporting ambitious national directives, and our commitment to advancing innovation and AI applications across all labour market fields..” Al Saadi added.

He also underscored that the Ministry's digital initiatives aim to improve the customer experience, increase operational efficiency, and reduce costs. The platform ‘Eye’ is expected to expedite transactions, ensure high-quality document submissions, and enhance the overall work permit process.

Alongside the platform 'Eye,' the Ministry also displayed its other digital transformation initiatives, including Work Bundle, Ask Data, Forecasting Future Jobs and Skills, Smart Safety Tracker, and the MoHRE smart application, all supporting the UAE Government’s broader vision for AI leadership, streamlined procedures, and a flexible, efficient work environment.

Unveiling the Work Bundle platform, the Ministry said it aims to provide a unified platform designed to simplify the employee management journey in the private sector. “It offers proactive services through a single application, a unified payment channel, and one-time data submission, reducing attachments and in-person visits. The project includes three main packages: the Establishment package, the Emirati package, and the Domestic Worker package. Its goal is to deliver a seamless digital experience that streamlines processes and enhances integration with the Ministry’s government partners.”

Currently, MoHRE issues 13 types of work permits, depending on the nature of employment. These include permits for recruiting workers from outside the UAE, temporary work permits, part-time permits, student training, freelance work, and more.

Work permits are a legal requirement for anyone seeking employment in the UAE, and it is illegal to work or recruit without a valid permit. By integrating AI into the work permit process, MoHRE aims to make document verification and approvals faster, more accurate, and more efficient, reinforcing the UAE’s commitment to smart government services.
