Taageer Finance names Sheikh Khalil Al Harthy as new CEO

Oman’s listed financial services company, Taageer Finance, has appointed Sheikh Khalil Al Harthy as its new Chief Executive Officer, to be effective November 2025 onwards.

Announcing the appointment on the Muscat Stock Exchange (MSX), the company stated, “Taageer Finance Company SAOG would like to announce the appointment of Sheikh Khalil Al Harthy as Chief Executive Officer with effect from 9 November 2025.”
Al Harthy succeeds Muhammad Kashif Yaqoob, who had been Acting CEO since August following Fahad Khamis Al Bulushi’s departure in June 2025. Yaqoob will return to his previous role as Deputy CEO, continuing his contributions to the leadership team during the transition.
Taageer Finance shared that Sheikh Khalil Al Harthy holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance and Information Systems, a Diploma in Financial and Banking Sciences, and brings around 30 years of professional experience. His background includes investment portfolio management, senior roles in the insurance sector, and his previous position as CEO of Credit Oman Company.
“He has also served on the boards of several closely held and public joint-stock companies in Oman across the energy, insurance, and finance sectors,” the company added.
Prior to Credit Oman, Al Harthy was Assistant General Manager at RSA Oman for over seven years and Portfolio Manager at the Central Bank of Oman for more than a decade. He is a certified Compliance Fellow with the International Compliance Association and has completed leadership programs at prominent institutions.
