GGCI appoints Anuj Agarwal as new Chief Executive Officer

Saudi Arabia’s leading insurance company, Gulf General Cooperative Insurance, has appointed Anuj Agarwal as the new Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately.
"Gulf General Cooperative Insurance Company announces the decision of its Board of Directors, dated 15 June 2025 AD, to appoint Mr. Anuj Agarwal as the Chief Executive Officer of the Company. The Company obtained the no-objection from the Insurance Authority for the appointment on 07 May 2025 AD," the company shared in an announcement filing on Tadawul platform.
Agarwal succeeds CEO Khalid Gaafar Allagany, who stepped down from the role in May 2025 citing personal reasons.
Allagany will continue serving the organisation until August 20, 2025, allowing close coordination with Agarwal as he assumes responsibilities.
Agarwal brings nearly three decades of industry leadership experience to his new role. He stepped down as CEO of Allianz Saudi Fransi in July last year, and Abdulrahman Aldokheel succeeded him thereafter. He later continued working with the insurance group on various projects in Germany.
In previous roles, he served as Regional Chief Financial Officer at Allianz Africa for over four years, Managing Director and CEO at Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance – India, CFO and Chief Risk Officer at Allianz Utama – Indonesia, and CFO at Allianz Egypt.
He also held positions as CFO at SBI Life Insurance Co., Principal Consultant for the EMEA region at Polaris Software Lab, and held other roles with the Allianz Group in Singapore and India.

On the academic front, Agarwal holds an MBA in Finance from the Sydenham Institute of Management Studies, Research and Entrepreneurship Education, and a bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering from Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology – India.
