
DHL Supply Chain appoints Orkun Saruhanoglu to first-ever dedicated CEO role for MEA region
Global logistics company DHL Supply Chain has appointed Orkun Saruhanoglu to a new dedicated Chief Executive Officer role for the Middle East & Africa (MEA) region, effective immediately.
For the first time, DHL Supply Chain has created a dedicated CEO role for the Middle East & Africa. Saruhanoglu will take on this role, reporting to new global CEO Hendrik Venter, who previously served as CEO, Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) region.
“The move aims to strengthen regional leadership, expand services, and build supply chain resilience across MEA,” the company said.
Saruhanoglu joined DHL Group 27 years ago and most recently served as CEO of DHL Supply Chain for the Middle East & Türkiye and Central & Eastern Europe (CEE) region. “As CEO of CEE, he significantly grew the inbound-to-manufacturing portfolio, particularly in the automotive sector; played a pivotal role in creating ASMO, the joint venture between Aramco and DHL in the Middle East; and delivered best-in-class customer and employee engagement,” the company added.
Welcoming Saruhanoglu to this new role, Venter said, “Orkun brings strong expertise and a proven track record of enhancing end-to-end supply chain operations and customer development. His knowledge of DHL’s operations and commitment to our objectives will be invaluable, and he will make a significant positive impact on the board. The MEA region within DHL Supply Chain is set for accelerated growth, and having Orkun in the region will provide the required level of focus.”

On the academic front, Saruhanoglu holds an MBA degree from the National University of Singapore and a bachelor’s degree in Management Engineering from Istanbul Technical University. He is also a key member of the YASED International Investors Association and the International Trade Council.
