Murat will be based in Dubai to lead the company's strategic growth and expansion. He takes over responsibilities from Nandan Mer, who served as Network’s CEO since 2021.

Network International, a leading digital payments company, has announced the appointment of Murat Cagri Suzer as its Group Chief Executive Officer, with immediate effect.

In his new role, Murat brings over two decades of leadership experience across banking, finance, and corporate advisory domains. Most recently, he served at Brookfield Asset Management as a Senior Advisor. Brookfield played a key role in leading a consortium that acquired 100% of Network International in 2024, driving the digital payments platform toward long-term growth and success.

Prior to that, he worked with Garanti BBVA for over 15 years in key roles, including Executive VP of Corporate & Investment Banking for Global Markets, CEO of Payment Systems, and Chairperson of Digital Assets. He also worked with Mastercard as an Advisory Board member and with McKinsey & Co. as an Engagement Manager & Consultant at the beginning of his career.

Murat will be based in Dubai to lead the company's strategic growth and expansion. He takes over responsibilities from Nandan Mer, who served as Network’s CEO since 2021 and has decided to retire after a 38-year-long career.

Announcing the CEO transition, the Board of Directors of Network International said, "We are pleased to welcome Murat on board. He brings extensive experience and expertise to this role, and his passion for embracing new-age technologies and dedication to fostering a culture of innovation will steer Network International toward continued growth. We thank Nandan Mer for his invaluable contributions over the years and wish him success in the future."

Murat also expressed, "I am delighted to join the exceptional team at Network International and continue to build on its strong foundation. We serve clients in more than 50 countries as the largest payments company in the Middle East and Africa. Leveraging our scale, technology, talent, and partner ecosystem, we will continue to deliver value to businesses while pursuing growth opportunities and expanding our product offerings further into fintech services."

While sharing the news on LinkedIn, Nandan posted, "Today, after 38 years in the financial services and digital payments industry, I am retiring from Network. It has been a privilege to serve Network’s stakeholders alongside 2,500+ of the best and brightest digital payment experts, from whom I have learned immensely. I would also like to thank regulators in the 50 geographies in which Network operates, each of our 250+ bank, fintech, and telco customers, and our 130,000+ merchants for their trust and partnership. Last but not least, wishing Murat the very best as he takes the business to greater heights."

Nelly Boustany, who joined Network as Group Chief Human Resources Officer in 2023, also shared, "Welcome to Network International, Murat Cagri Suzer! Looking forward to the growth journey ahead under your leadership."

She extended wishes to the outgoing CEO, adding, "Thank you, Nandan Mer, for the partnership over the past 16 months in bringing focus to the people agenda. We will continue to build on this foundation in the years to come."
