Osama joined the company in 1995 and served in key roles including Chief Strategy Officer and VP of New Ventures.

Giza Systems’ Chief Executive Officer, Osama Sorour, has announced his resignation from the post, and to succeed him, the company has appointed Ahmad Elharany as the new CEO, with immediate effect.

Osama, who joined the company in 1995, has announced his retirement plans and now steps into the role of advisor to the company’s Chairman and executive team. Over the last three decades with the company, he transitioned into key roles, including VP of New Ventures and Business Development in 2008, Chief Strategy Officer in 2013, and Group CEO in 2022.

Announcing his exit on LinkedIn, Osama shared, “After 30 remarkable years at Giza Systems, full of challenges and numerous achievements, I am pleased to share my transition from Giza Systems Group CEO to the role of advisor to the Chairman and member of the Board Executive Committee. I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to everyone in the Giza Systems family. Your unwavering dedication and passion have been instrumental in establishing our leadership in the market, and I take immense pride in our collective accomplishments.”

Ahmad, on the other hand, joins the company with over 25 years of global leadership experience in key sectors across the Middle East, the UK, Germany, and France. He most recently served Konecta Middle East & Africa (MEA) as the CEO and General Manager, spearheading growth, market expansion, and operational efficiency in the region. In his previous roles, he worked with Atos as the Chief Operating Officer & CEO, DXC Technology as the Country General Manager, HPE as the Head of Project Management, and Logica and EDS Group in key roles.

Welcoming Ahmad to the leadership team, Omer Alnomany - the Chairman of the company’s board and CEO of solutions by stc - said, “We are delighted to welcome Ahmad Elharany to Giza Systems. His proven leadership in diverse multinational companies and strong track record of success make him an ideal fit for the next stage of growth.”

He also extended wishes to Osama, adding, “We are also deeply grateful to Osama Sorour for his outstanding leadership over the past years. His contributions to Giza Systems are immeasurable. His vision, dedication, and unwavering commitment to excellence have been the cornerstone of our success. We are deeply grateful for his leadership, and we wish him all the best in his future endeavors and are pleased that he will continue to support the company as an advisor and member of the Board Executive Committee.”

Osama extended his wishes to the new Group CEO, Ahmad, saying, “I am proud of what we have accomplished at Giza Systems during my tenure as CEO. I am confident that Elharany is the right person to lead the company into its next chapter of growth and transformation. He is a talented and experienced leader with a deep understanding of our industry and our customers. I am confident that Giza Systems is well-positioned for continued growth and success, and I look forward to supporting the team in this new chapter as an advisor.”

Ahmad also expressed, “I am honoured and excited to join Giza Systems, part of the solutions by stc group of companies, as its new CEO. I have long admired the company’s pioneering spirit, innovative culture, commitment to customer success, and market leadership as the first homegrown IT company in Egypt; and I am confident that we can build on this amazing foundation of 50 years in the market to achieve even greater success in the years to come. I am committed to working closely with the talented team at Giza Systems and the broader team of solutions by stc to deliver innovative solutions to our customers and create long-term value for our shareholders.”

Ahmad’s appointment marks the second significant leadership transition at the company, as earlier in the year, it welcomed Saleh Algroony as Group Chief People & Corporate Services Officer. Saleh previously served solutions by stc in a similar role for over eight years, and now Emad AlMutairi has taken over the responsibilities following Saleh’s transition.
