Daumantas brings a wealth of financial leadership experience and will focus on driving commercial management and strategic planning for Adyen across the region.

Adyen, a global fintech company, has appointed Daumantas Grigaravicius as the new Head of Middle East, succeeding Sander Maertens with immediate effect.

In his new role, Daumantas will oversee commercial management and strategic planning across the region. Meanwhile, Sander transitions to a global commercial role. Daumantas brings nearly 15 years of financial leadership experience. Most recently, he served as the General Manager of the Middle East at Triple-A, a Series A startup backed by Sequoia and Shorooq Partners, where he helped customers embrace digital currency payments. Prior to that, he worked with Ebury as the Country Manager - UAE, and with WorldFirst as a Senior Consultant.

On the academic front, Daumantas holds a bachelor’s degree in banking and finance from the University of Essex, a certification in Investment Environment from the CFA Institute, and a certification in Investment Operations from the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI).

With the solid foundation built by Sander and the incredible team here, we’re poised to deepen our commitment to UAE businesses, helping them grow through innovative and seamless payment solutions locally and globally.”

Sander, who steps into his new role as SVP Global Commerce, will continue to drive Adyen’s global commercial impact as the financial technology platform of choice for enterprise businesses. His focus will be on identifying key opportunities for Adyen’s offerings within the entertainment, hospitality, and travel industries. He added, “It’s a proud moment to bid farewell to my current role after opening this office and building a strong local foundation. The goal that brought me here—to extend Adyen’s reach and capacity to solve complex problems for our customers in the region—has been realised, and I’m excited to start a new chapter with Adyen globally.”
