IMI appoints Eng. Abdullah Al-Ghamdi as CEO
International Maritime Industries, a leading maritime transportation company across MENA, has announced the appointment of Eng. Abdullah Al-Ghamdi as Chief Executive Officer, effective July 2024.
In his new role, Al-Ghamdi brings nearly three decades of strategic leadership experience across the oil, gas, and maritime industries. He will drive IMI’s business expansion and bolster its position as the largest full-service shipyard in the MENA region. Before his appointment, he served as CEO of Saudi Engines Manufacturing Company (Makeen), leading significant business growth. Prior to that, he worked with Saudi Aramco for over 20 years in various leadership roles, including industrial services, terminals, project management, new business development, and finance.
On the academic front, Al-Ghamdi holds an MSc in Design of Rotating Machines from Cranfield University and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals.
