
Faisal Al Mheiri appointed as Director General of FAHR
His Excellency Faisal Saeed Al Mheiri has been promoted to the role of Director General of the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources, following approval from His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, who issued a federal decree.

The appointment is effective immediately. Al Mheiri was appointed as the Acting Director General in January 2024 when H.E. Laila Obaid Al Suwaidi was promoted to the Director-General role.
Al Mheiri will be working closely with Her Excellency Ohood Khalfan Al Roumi, Chairwoman of FAHR, to oversee the Government Communication Department, Support Services Sector — including HR, Finance, and IT functions — Program and HR Planning Sector — including Government Project and Programs Department, HR Planning Department, and HRIS Department — and HR Policies Sector — including Policies & Legal Affairs Department, and Performance Assessment & Follow-up Department.
Al Mheiri brings over two decades of HR leadership experience to his new role. Most recently, he served as the Executive Director of the Central Corporate Services Sector at the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs and previously held several leadership roles, including Director of Human Resources at the Prime Minister’s Office and Executive Director of Career Development at Emirates Telecommunications Corporation.
Throughout his leadership journey, Al Mheiri has played a key role in the transformation of HR, talent development, and national workforce empowerment across government and private sector entities. He led the development of institutional projects and initiatives aimed at advancing human capital and organisational excellence. He is a strong advocate for the importance of employee engagement in fostering a positive workplace atmosphere, promoting dialogue, and building a culture of collaboration to achieve high levels of productivity through employee satisfaction and job harmony.

On the academic front, Al Mheiri holds a Master’s degree in Engineering Systems and a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering from the American University of Sharjah.
