Khalid Murshed has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of e& enterprise, with immediate effect. 

Khalid has been serving as the Chief Technology and Information Officer of Etisalat UAE for over three years. Announcing the news on LinkedIn, Khalid posted, “I am honoured and excited to share that I am starting a new chapter as CEO of e& enterprise. This is a tremendous opportunity to build on the incredible success of this organisation and drive further growth, innovation, and value for our customers and partners.

As I step into this role, I want to take a moment to express my gratitude for my journey as CTIO at e& UAE. It has been a privilege to work with an extraordinary team, pushing boundaries and delivering transformative solutions. A special thank you to my leader, Masood M. Sharif Mahmood, for his guidance and support during this journey.

I am equally grateful and excited to work under the leadership of Hatem Dowidar in this new role, as we continue to shape the future of e& together. Here’s to new challenges, opportunities, and successes ahead!”

Khalid initially joined Etisalat UAE as the Chief Engineer of Mobile Network Planning in 1998 and later stepped down to serve Mobily as the Director of Network Development for nearly four years. Thereafter, he worked with Emirates Telecommunications Company (du) as the Vice President of Mobile Access Network for over five years. 

In 2013, he rejoined Etisalat Misr and served as the Chief Technology Officer for over eight years before transitioning to the CTIO role in the UAE. During his tenure in Egypt, he played a pivotal role in the launch of Etisalat’s 4G network, which positioned it among the top two operators in the region’s market.

On the academic front, Khalid holds a bachelor's degree in telecommunications engineering from Khalifa University.

Khalid succeeds Salvador Angalada, who stepped down from the position in November 2024, to continue as an Advisor to the group. e& confirmed the leadership rejig in an ADX disclosure stating, “As part of e&’s endeavors to empower its talents and best utilise their capabilities in different aspects of its business, kindly be informed that Mr. Khalid Murshed is appointed as CEO of e& enterprise as a replacement for Mr. Salvador Anglada, who is appointed as Advisor in the Group. These appointments shall be effective from January 1st, 2025.”
