Tourism Enterprise Co. appoints Omar Al-Suwailem as CEO

Tourism Enterprise Company (TECO) has announced the appointment of Abdullah bin Omar Al-Suwailem as Chief Executive Officer, with effect from August 2024.
Al-Suwailem, who has served as TECO's Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and Managing Director since May 2024, will take on additional responsibilities alongside his current role. He brings over two decades of executive management and leadership experience to this position.
In a company disclosure to Tadawul (Saudi Exchange Board), TECO stated, "Tourism Enterprise Company announces that its Board of Directors has taken its decision 'by passing' issued on 13/08/2024 AD to appoint Eng. Abdullah bin Omar Al-Suwailem as CEO in addition to his responsibilities as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and Managing Director, effective from 13/08/2024 AD. Eng. Abdullah bin Omar Al-Suwailem has more than 20 years of experience in executive management. He also has financial experience, having served as Chairman of the Audit Committee for two terms, and currently holds the position of Managing Director of the company. Engineer Abdullah Al-Suwailem holds a master’s degree in management engineering from the University of Bridgeport in the United States."

Al-Suwailem assumed the CEO responsibilities in April 2024 after former CEO Muhannad Al Onaizan requested that his contract not be renewed due to personal reasons. Al Onaizan held the position for nearly a year, following his appointment in June 2023.
