Ahmed ELsheikh joins PepsiCo Middle East as Chief Executive Officer

Ahmed's transition was first announced earlier this year, along with Jagrut Kotecha’s appointment as CEO for PepsiCo India & South Asia.

Ahmed Elsheikh, who has been serving as the President for PepsiCo in India since 2017, is now appointed as the Chief Executive Officer for the Middle East business, with immediate effect.

Ahmed joined PepsiCo in 2001 and has held several key positions since then, including General Manager for Egypt - Foods, General Manager for PepsiCo Jordan, Vice President and General Manager for Saudi Arabia and Yemen’s beverages operations, and Senior VP and BU General Manager for Northeast Africa.

In his new role, Ahmed brings over three decades of leadership experience across the FMCG industry in dynamic global markets. Before joining PepsiCo, he worked with Johnson & Johnson in Saudi Arabia as the Brand and Sales Manager for the Skin Care business, and with Cadbury in Egypt as the Sales Manager. He also serves as a board member of Injaz Egypt, Beyti Juice, and Dairy Joint Venture in Egypt.

Announcing his new role on LinkedIn, Ahmed posted, “Goodbyes are never easy, but this one marks the beginning of a new adventure! Excited to announce the start of my new assignment as the CEO for PepsiCo Middle East based in Saudi Arabia!

As I bid farewell to PepsiCo India, I feel fortunate to have been given the opportunity to lead that business, an experience that has profoundly enriched both my personal and professional journey. As we navigate through what I believe to be India's defining decade, I will always be cheering for the PepsiCo India family, celebrating every win in spirit, wherever I may be. Over the past seven years, I have made invaluable friendships and garnered invaluable experiences, all underpinned by unwavering support from amazing individuals and professionals - the unstoppable Falcons! - who have become friends and family! To you I say: Phir Milenge!

The leadership rejig at PepsiCo India was first announced in January this year, and the company has appointed Jagrut as the CEO for India and South Asia businesses. Commenting on the transition, Eugene Willemsen, CEO for PepsiCo AMESA, stated, “Over the last six years, Ahmed has been instrumental in transforming our business, driving innovation, and steering the team through challenging landscapes. His leadership saw the introduction of pioneering products and various community-focused initiatives, and I look forward to continuing to work with him in his new capacity. I am equally excited to welcome Jagrut to the India executive team and am certain that we will continue to scale new zeniths of success under his leadership.”
