BlackRock, a global financial services firm, has announced the appointment of Mohammad Al Fahim as the new Managing Director and Head of the UAE, effective June 2024.

In his new role, Al Fahim brings approximately 15 years of leadership experience across the finance, healthcare, and government sectors. He will lead BlackRock’s businesses across the UAE, Oman, and Bahrain, overseeing overall growth and expansion in Middle Eastern markets.

Before his appointment, Al Fahim worked with Goldman Sachs in key roles, including Chief Executive Officer for Abu Dhabi’s ADGM branch. He also worked as a General Dental Practitioner with the Dubai Health Authority at the beginning of his career.

On the academic front, Al Fahim holds a Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree from University College Cork and completed an Executive Education course in Private Equity & Venture Capital from Harvard Business School.

Welcoming Al Fahim to the leadership team, Yazeed Almubarak, Managing Director and Head of Middle East Client Business, said, "I am delighted to welcome Mohammad as BlackRock’s Head of UAE and an important senior leader in the Middle East business. This appointment is a further testament to our commitment to growing our UAE operations and our broader regional platform.
