Wafaa Elnagdy joins fintech startup blnk as Chief People Officer

Blnk, an Egyptian fintech company, has appointed Wafaa Elnagdy as Chief People Officer, effective May 2024.
In her new role, Wafaa brings over 20 years of HR leadership experience across IT, FMCG, Real Estate, Construction, and Distribution sectors. She most recently worked with Sky Developments as an HR Consultant and at BasharSoft as the People/Culture & Shared Services Director. Prior to that, she served as HR Director at Egyptian Resorts Company, WADI Group, and as HR Manager for the MENA region at ITWORX. She was also HR General Manager at Mansour Group and Head of Organisational Development at Juhayna Food Industries. Additionally, she worked with Abudawood Food & Beverage Co in Egypt and began her career at Procter & Gamble.
On the academic front, Wafaa is a Certified Board Director and a Certified EQ Assessor in corporate governance, organisational culture, and performance, from the Egyptian Institute of Directors - EFSA, associated with the IFC. She also holds a bachelor's degree in English Literature from Ain Shams University. Her core competencies include talent strategy, skill development, people management, labour and employment law, executive management, learning and development strategy, performance management, strategic HR, employee benefits, HR policies, executive search, compensation and benefits, talent acquisition, and employee relations.

Announcing her new role on LinkedIn, Wafaa posted, 'I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Chief People Officer at Blnk!' and received wishes from the senior leadership team of the fintech company.
As Chief People Officer, Wafaa provided strategic and operational guidance to businesses and led HR functions and initiatives across different sectors and regions. She managed the HR department and oversaw the implementation of effective policies, procedures, and benefit programmes. She also contributed to organisational development, change management, retention, and evaluation strategies that align with business goals and vision. Additionally, she has a proven record of creating bottom-line impact through targeted human capital interventions and solutions.
