Arab Basalt Fiber Company, a UAE-based subsidiary of the Arab Mining Company, has announced the appointment of Dr. Hoshiar Yossif Molod as its new Chief Executive Officer.

Effective from August 2024, Dr. Hoshiar brings over 25 years of leadership experience across key sectors in the UK and the Middle East. Prior to this appointment, he served as Chief Operating Officer (COO) at a Basalt Fiber Reinforced Composite (BFRC) producer for over a year. His previous roles include Global Technical Director at ASTRA Polymers, Vice President at the National Industrialisation Company (TASNEE), and Manager of Research and Development at Saudi International Petrochemical Company. He also served as Chairman of the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu and began his career at Johnson Matthey.

Academically, Dr. Hoshiar holds a PhD in Synthetic Organic Chemistry from the University of Surrey and an MSc in Analytical Chemistry from Kingston University.
