
Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib Medical Group appoints Faris Al-Ghamdi as Executive Director
Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib Medical Group has appointed Faris Al-Ghamdi as the Executive Director, with immediate effect.
Sharing the news on LinkedIn, Faris posted, “Thrilled to announce my new position as Executive Director at Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib Medical Group Head Office. Looking forward to contributing to the ongoing success and expansion of HMG!”
In his new role, Faris brings over 17 years of leadership experience across the private and public healthcare sectors. With his extensive background in diagnostics, biotechnology, clinical laboratory science, and commercial operations, he will be spearheading the strategic growth and sustainable success of the medical group.
Most recently, Faris served Beckman Coulter Diagnostics as the Country Strategic Partnerships Manager for Saudi Arabia for nearly four years. Previously, he worked with bioMérieux as the IA Regional Manager for the Middle East, Turkey, and Russia; Roche as the Clinician Promotion Supervisor for KSA; King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre as the HLA and Molecular Infectious Disease CLS; and as a Health Research Assistant in New York.
At the beginning of his career, Faris worked with BioCentra in the U.S. and UT Health San Antonio, and focused on leading and regulating missions for the Saudi Arabian Cultural Mission as the Vice President of the Saudi Club in New York.
On the academic front, Faris holds an MSc in Molecular Biotechnology, Medical and Research from Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences; a Bachelor of Clinical Laboratory Science in the medical field from Texas Medical University; and a Diploma in Business Administration from the International Business Management Institute, Germany.

He has also completed certifications in leadership management, leadership essentials, strategic partnerships, finance, HR management, economics, strategic management, international business, marketing and communications, and Six Sigma from leading institutions, including Harvard Business School, Cornell University, The Association of International Product Marketing and Management, and IBMI.
Faris has worked on key projects throughout his career, including the Ministry of Health’s COVID-19 response project, the KSA Mega Project for Private Lab Chains, and continues to play a pivotal role in diabetes control among children over 12 years old by optimising healthy food strategies in collaboration with Health Research NY. His contributions also include research on retroviruses at Albany College of Pharmacy of Union University and the development of a MERS diagnostic kit.
