In his new role, Kush succeeds Fazeela Gopalani, who recently stepped down from the position after nearly 10 years of service.

The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) announces the appointment of Kush Ahuja as the new Head of Eurasia and the Middle East, with immediate effect.

Kush succeeds Fazeela Gopalani, who recently stepped down after nine years of service in the role. Based in Dubai, Kush brings over two decades of leadership experience and will be responsible for spearheading ACCA’s growth in the region. He joined ACCA in 2011 and has held key roles, including his most recent position as Associate Director. Outside of ACCA, Kush worked with HDFC AMC Dubai for over five years in roles such as AVP and Chief Representative for the Middle East. Before moving to Dubai, he worked with Citibank India and PwC India.

On the academic front, Kush holds an MBA in Strategic Marketing and Analytical Finance, a BCom degree from the College of Vocational Studies, and is a certified Chartered Accountant from ICAI.

Welcoming Kush to the leadership team, Magdalena Hernandez, Director of Europe, Eurasia, Middle East, and the Americas for ACCA, said, “Kush brings with him 24 years of experience, 12 of which have been at ACCA, developing its presence in India. During this time, he led efforts to enhance scalability, efficiency, and effectiveness in engagement activities across India, building ACCA’s employer and learning partner network, and focusing on employability for ACCA members.”

Magdalena also extended her best wishes to Fazeela, saying, “We wish Fazeela every success in her next chapter and thank her for her significant contribution to ACCA over the years.”

Kush expressed his excitement, saying, “I am delighted to take up this position. Eurasia and the Middle East are vibrant and growing markets, and I look forward to leading our efforts in the region, continuing to work for members, future members, employers, and stakeholders. I am eager to build on Fazeela Gopalani’s work and am excited to join the Eurasia and Middle East team at such an important time. The warm welcome I’ve received from my ACCA colleagues has helped me learn so much more about the organisation. ACCA’s commitment to building a community of strong, ethical accountancy professionals deeply resonates with me, and I look forward to leveraging my experience and collaborating with the team across the region to create valuable opportunities for our members and partners.”
