In his new role, Abdulla brings over two decades of leadership experience and aims to spearhead continued business growth while nurturing local talent in KSA.

Snap Inc., a global technology company, has announced the appointment of Abdulla Alhammadi as the Managing Director for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with immediate effect.

The strategic appointment of Abdulla is part of the company’s continued success in the region, as he has been serving as the Regional Business Lead for over five years. To take on his new responsibilities, he will move to Diriyah Jax Cultural District in Riyadh, where the company is establishing a new office and Creator Studio for Snapchat, which encompasses over 22 million users across the region. He will focus on nurturing and growing the company’s regional partnership ecosystem, from government entities to SMEs. Additionally, he will aim to grow the team with flourishing local talent in the Kingdom.

In his new role, Abdulla brings over two decades of industry leadership experience. Before joining Snap Inc. in 2019, he served as the Senior Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Company. In his previous roles, he worked with Google, Careem, and Alba (Aluminium Bahrain). He also served as a Member on the Board of Directors for Beyon. Academically, he holds a bachelor's degree in finance, international business, and economics from the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University.

Welcoming Abdulla in the leadership role, Hussein Freijeh, Vice President of Snap in the MENA region, said, “We couldn’t think of a better person to be leading Snap in KSA. Alhammadi has taken the business from strength to strength, and with KSA being one of our largest markets in the region, his skill set and determination will be imperative to carrying out our strategic plans and supporting our partners.”

Alhammadi added, “At such an important and transitional time for both the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Snap as a business, I am honoured to be stepping into a new position at a company I value so highly. The next year is set to be an exciting time for Snap in Saudi Arabia, as we officially open our new office and Creator Studio. Alongside this, I hope to continue building our GCC community and our creator ecosystem, cementing our leadership in AR, and demonstrating the ROI we provide for our partners. I am incredibly grateful for this opportunity and look forward to continuing Snap’s success in Saudi Arabia.”
