
Miahona appoints Abdullah Almurbati as CHRO to transform organisational culture and performance

Miahona, a leading sustainable water and wastewater solutions company in Saudi Arabia, has appointed Abdullah Almurbati as Chief Human Resources Officer, effective January 2025.
Almurbati recently shared the news on LinkedIn, stating, “I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Chief Human Resources Officer at Miahona!”
In his new role, Almurbati brings over 17 years of HR leadership experience across the construction, manufacturing, staffing and recruitment, insurance, and energy sectors. He most recently served as Head of HR & Admin at the Saudi Arabian Cooperative Insurance Company (SAICO) for five years.
Previously, he held HR leadership roles at Olayan Saudi Holding Company as Country HR Manager, Maalem Financing Company as HR Manager, Jaddarah Workforce Company as HR Manager, and Arkaz Alsharq Building Materials as HR Manager. Earlier in his career, he worked with Mohammad Al Mojil Group, Hajr Electricity Production Company, and Hala Supply Chain Services Company in key roles.
On the academic front, Almurbati holds a BSc in HR Management and Services from King AbdulAziz University, a Diploma in Executive Assistant/Executive Secretary from the Institute of Public Administration, and a Level 5 Diploma in HRM and Public Administration from the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).
He has also completed several key certifications, including KPI Professional from The KPI Institute, the Insurance Foundations Professional Exam (IFPE), Company Governance from The Financial Academy, Code of Conduct from Baxter International, and Anti-Fraud from ALJhood Group.
Almurbati is an emerging HR leader, known for his thought leadership on organisational culture, employer branding, HR and culture transformation, talent retention, rewards, and HR’s role in building a culture of wellbeing and care.

Most recently, he wrote about the link between culture, work environment, and employee engagement: “Corporate governance and organisational culture are intertwined. Culture provides the framework for ethical decision-making and accountability, while governance ensures these values are upheld through leadership and policy.” He also outlined key elements for building a culture and climate that directly impact employee engagement—so employees feel connected to their work and company.
