Peter Kelly joins National Bank of Kuwait as Deputy Head of Group HR

Peter brings over three decades of global HR leadership experience, enhancing the capabilities of all employees, especially within Group HR, and ensuring the bank thrives.

National Bank of Kuwait has appointed Peter Kelly as the Deputy Head of Group Human Resources, effective July 2024.

Peter is a seasoned HR leader, bringing over 35 years of global HR experience across Public Services, Oil & Gas, Marine, Telecomms, Retail, FMCG, EPC, and Banking sectors. He most recently served at Kuwait Financial Centre for Markaz as the Executive Vice President and Head of Human Resources for over five years, where he oversaw strategic talent development, built a talent pipeline, ensured executive and firm-wide development, and strengthened organisational culture and performance to drive continued business success.

In his previous roles, Peter worked with Chiyoda Corporation in Japan as the VP of International HR, Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank as the Senior VP of Human Capital Strategy, Al Jaber Energy Services as the VP of Human Resources & Employee Development, and Alghanim Industries as the Corporate Director of Human Resources. He also worked with Momentum in Kuwait, UAE, Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Alshaya Company in Kuwait, Kuwait Petroleum Corporation, eir Ireland in Ireland, Kuwait Oil Tanker Company, and London Borough of Tower Hamlets in the UK.

On the academic front, Peter holds an MA degree in Human Resources with Psychometric Testing & Assessment from the University of Westminster and a BA degree in English Literature from Queen Mary University of London. He is also a certified Chartered Fellow of the United Kingdom’s Institute of Personnel & Development. His core areas of expertise include culture change, strategic human resources leadership, employee well-being, employee engagement, HR transformation, and training and development.

Joining NBK, Peter will lead the bank's ongoing success by leveraging Group HR's contributions and mentoring its talented HR teams, focusing on enhancing the capabilities of all employees and ensuring the bank thrives and grows in the fast-moving future of the sector.

Announcing his new role on LinkedIn, Peter posted, “I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Deputy Head, NBK Group Human Resources at National Bank of Kuwait!”
