Eid 2025 break for all private sector workers will begin from Sunday, 30 March 2025, to Tuesday, 1 April 2025.

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has announced the dates for Eid-Al Fitr 2025, when all private sector employees across the UAE will receive a paid holiday.

The Eid 2025 break for all private sector workers will begin from Sunday, 30 March 2025, to Tuesday, 1 April 2025, according to the official notification.

We announce that from Sunday 30 March to Tuesday 1 April, will be a paid holiday for all private sector employees across the country on the occasion of Eid Al Fitr.

If the month of Ramadan concludes in the 30th day, the holiday will be extended to Wednesday, 2 April 2025.

The Ministry also clarified that if Ramadan extends to 30 days, the holiday will be extended by an additional day, allowing employees to enjoy a break through Wednesday, 2 April 2025.

Therefore, the private sector employees irrespective of their nationality will get:

  • 3 days Eid break, if Ramadan lasts 29 days
  • 4 days Eid break, if Ramadan lasts 30 days
  • The workers will resume work on April 2 or 3, accordingly.

This extended Eid Al Fitr break reflects the UAE’s commitment to honouring cultural and religious traditions while fostering employee well-being and work-life balance across the nation.

Private sector workers will be able to celebrate and spend quality time with their families and recharge, contributing to a more engaged and satisfied workforce when they return to work.

Yesterday, the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) also declared a 4-day break for the UAE’s federal government workers, in order to celebrate Eid 2025. The official break for them too will begin on Sunday, March 30, 2025, and end on Tuesday, April 1, 2025. Federal employees will resume work on Wednesday, April 2, 2025.

Similarly, in Saudi Arabia, all private sector workers will receive a four-day break for Eid al-Fitr, starting at the end of the working day on March 29, 2025, and will resume work on April 3, 2025.
